As a new mom (or mom-to-be), I’m sure you’re wondering “Why Should I Hire a Professional Newborn Photographer?” There are so many reasons, but my #1 reason is safety. I can’t stress this more.
I’ve been a Professional Newborn Photographer in Minnesota since 2011. I’ve been providing this newborn photography service to families in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Rochester areas and have worked with hundreds of babies. I also have a background in early childhood education, I’m a former daycare center teacher, and I’m a mom.
Along my journey as a photographer, I’ve learned so much from so many fabulous newborn photographers. The primary focus of the top newborn photographers in this industry is always safety. I can’t even begin to stress the importance of newborn safety in newborn photography.
One of those top photographers, whom I’ve looked up to my whole career, told a very disturbing story today. She received a call from another photographer’s client very upset and not sure what to do. She let her know that while working with another photographer her baby was dropped on his head!
The photographer then proceeded to act like it was no big deal and kept going on with the session. What?!? This story broke my heart. Like, how does that even happen?
The mom was in tears while retelling this story. Luckily they had brought the baby to the hospital and everything was ok.
This is why hiring a professional newborn photographer with experience is SO important. As I stated before, not only have I been a newborn photographer for over 12 years, but I have a lot of experience in early childhood care and education through being a former daycare teacher, I’m newborn safety certified through APNPI, and I’m also a mom.
There is nothing more important to me than your baby’s safety.
I know when looking for a newborn photographer, the top of your list is going to be price and style, but please make sure you’re also considering their experience and safety training as well. Ask for referrals, check out the reviews, and do your due diligence for your baby’s sake.
Any person off the street can pick up a camera and call themselves a newborn photographer with absolutely no experience whatsoever. They may never have even held a newborn before!
It’s worth it to hire a professional newborn photographer. Not only for the sake of preserving these precious and fleeting first newborn days but for your newborn’s safety.
I would love to work with you on your newborn photos for you and your little one! Please reach out today if looking to book a session. Most of my summer dates are filling up, but I may have a last-minute opening as dates get moved around when babies are delivered earlier or later than their due dates!
I look forward to hearing from you!
