About Alicea

I'm the girl who can't eat a bite of cereal without milk running down her chin. My husband shakes his head and laughs when he sees food crumbs and spills all over my shirt because he knows, that's how I roll.

But I'm also the girl who can laugh at herself, too. I'm a dork. I laugh at everything. Life is funny. Life is short. Life is sweet.

It's probably why I do what I do. I love documenting these funny, short and sweet moments for my clients. I love photographing their little people before the moment is gone and can no longer be captured. I'm a bit of a time machine wizard, I suppose.

When I'm not photographing the cutest babies in the whole world (or in the Twin Cities), I'm doing your typical mom things; Target runs, volunteering at my son's school, endless cleaning and cooking while squeezing in cheesy Netflix movies I know my husband would never watch with me.

I'm also fiercely competitive when it comes to board games like Trivial Pursuit, especially movie and music trivia, which happens to be my specialty. Pictionary on the other hand; not so much. But I can draw a pretty good stick family.

I promise I won't draw yours. Take your pictures? That I can do.

I’m a Minnesota native and have been married to my husband for over 10 years. We have a wonderful son, who just turned 8 this past summer. He’s an amazing little man and I’m so lucky to be his mom. We’ve lived in Maple Grove for the past 12 years and absolutely love this town and community. I’m also an auntie and a great-auntie to 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great-niece and another great-niece on the way!

After the birth of my son in 2009, he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. I left my customer service desk job in corporate relocation to become a stay-at-home-mom to care for him and keep him healthy. I picked up photography as a hobby to photograph him as an infant, so I could capture all of the fleeting moments in his young life. Finding how much joy this brought to me led me to starting my own photography business in January 2011.

I started off photographing many, many different genres ranging from babies to high school seniors to weddings. As a former daycare center teacher with a strong background and love of working with babies, I decided to narrow down my niche and specialize only in newborns, babies and maternity portrait photography in 2015. It was truly the best decision I’ve ever made.

Some of the things I hear most often from my clients is how caring, loving and patient I am with their baby. Knowing how to handle, hold and pose newborns is delicate work and has come from many years of experience. Your baby will always be in the best hands with me, I promise.

I sincerely love what I do! I love providing an easy-going, stress-free photography experience resulting in gorgeous images that my clients will treasure forever. I want you to look back on your photos with nothing but a smile on your face and an ache in your heart longing to be in that exact moment in time. If I’ve done that, then I know I’ve done my job well.

I can’t wait to meet you and get to know you, too!!

If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
