Are you looking for a baby photographer near Wayzata, MN? I love working with families in Wayzata! Over the past 12 years, I’ve done lots of in-home newborn and baby photography portrait sessions for families that live in Wayzata. It’s also a great place to have an outdoor session with their cute little downtown area by the lake. And I love that it’s such a short drive for me to come down from Maple Grove (so you’d be in my 30-mile radius for an in-home lifestyle newborn session).
Hopefully, this next story won’t deter you from reaching out and hiring me to photograph you and your family!
So, yesterday I had a one-year baby session scheduled at my studio near Maple Grove. Luckily they didn’t have to drive far. I arrived at 10 am to set up for the cake smash part of their session, which was to start at 11 am.
When I got there, I saw a package outside that I didn’t want to get misplaced or stolen. So, I picked it up, went to my suite, unlocked my studio door and placed my camera bag, keys, purse (with my phone inside) on the floor inside the door, and brought the package down to the right suite for delivery.
I got back to my suite, grabbed the door handle, and attempted to open the door; only for it to be locked. Utter panic set in. All of my things…keys and phone specifically were locked inside my studio.
Knowing my clients would be arriving at 11 am, I knew I couldn’t do their session, but at least I could use their phone to call my husband to have him come and get me. I asked him to bring an extra key fob for my car, so I could at least drive home. I called him (had to leave a message) and sent my clients home since there wasn’t anything more they could do. I also knew the cleaning crew would arrive shortly, so they might be able to get my door open
It wasn’t until 12:30 pm (yep, 1.5 hours later), that my husband finally showed up (he didn’t see the call since his phone was dead). At the same time he arrived, the cleaning crew showed up and thankfully had a master key for all the suites. I was so, so grateful they were able to get me into my studio, but so bummed I didn’t get to do my client’s session.
I’m extremely grateful for the clients I have, though. They were completely understanding and we rescheduled their session for next Saturday.
This is definitely the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to me since I got stuck in an elevator in one of my previous studios. That’s a story for another time, though!
On that note, please enjoy these photos from one of my favorite 6-month baby sessions!
