Sweet + Tiny {Brooklyn Park Newborn Photographer}
Posted: December 2, 2015

I think I’ve done more in home newborn photography sessions this year than any other year and it’s always such an honor to meet and help out all of these new families.

Being at home for the newborn photography session offers so many more benefits than a studio session.  The couple I had from my last session, which was just last weekend (that one to be blogged soon!) just had their second baby and had a studio session with their first.  After realizing what a huge undertaking it is to bring a newborn to a studio for a 2-3 hour session and clearly seeing the benefits of being in the comfort of their own home for the session, they decided an in home newborn photography session was the way to go!

Winter has now arrived here in Minnesota with all the glory of cold temps, snow and icy roads.  Luckily I have an SUV that not only holds all of the equipment and props needed for an in home session, but can handle those snowy roads pretty well, too!  There’s no reason to travel out there with a newborn when you don’t need to.

This session pictured below happened to be in the middle of summer, so there wasn’t any reason to worry about the road conditions and as a bonus we were able to go outside for a few family photos with the new baby.  I absolutely love how these turned out.  They were such an adorable family and the little guy was a fantastic sleeper!  I’m pretty sure I got this session done in less than 3 hours.  Not a record, as my record is 2 hours, but anything under 3 hours I consider a success. 🙂
