I’ve worked with quite a few clients that have come to me after having bad experiences with other photographers. It always breaks my heart because I know they will never get those moments back. It motivates me to work extra hard with these clients as I feel I need to makeup for the disappointment they felt after working with their previous photographer. Although, I know it’s not my job to turn them around, I feel like each and every family deserves nothing but a positive and fun experience with beautiful images in the end.
I wasn’t sure how this session would go since I hadn’t worked with an “older newborn” in a very long time. The ideal age to photograph a newborn is typically 7-10 days (or so they say), but this little gal proved that theory wrong. She was over a month old when I went to her family’s home in Edina to photograph her newborn photos. After a few feedings, she slept like a dream and although was a little sensitive to my touch, ended up being so great to work with. I ended up with a beautiful variety of images.
We started off the session with taking family photos with just her older sister with mom and dad. I know with a new baby in the house, she was probably not getting as much attention as she was as an only child, so I really wanted to capture those moments with her before we woke up her baby sister. She even got to play my assistant playing peek-a-boo with mom and dad while we got some shots of mom and dad with her new sister, too.
I was on pins and needles waiting for the reply back from mom and when she emailed me letting me know how much she loved her photos, I couldn’t have been happier! I’m so looking forward to working with them on Baby Izzy’s First Year Baby Plan and seeing them again for her 6 month photos in October.
Here is a rather large share from their session, enjoy!!
Very nice as always. You make me so proud! Love Dad
Thanks!
