I can’t even begin to describe how much I love these romantic sunset maternity photos at the lake. They have such a light and airy romantic feel to them. This is the main reason I schedule these maternity sessions during that beautiful golden hour just before sunset. The light is gorgeous and warm and wraps around the body and highlights that beautiful baby bump. It also helps that we had a great location where the sunset is really pretty as it falls behind the trees and leaves a glow over the tall grass and water.
Nevermind the location and the timing of this session, the couple I had to work with was stunning. If I could have plucked them from a catalog to photograph, I would have. On top of that, they were super sweet and really fun to work with. They were naturals in front of the camera and their love for each other and their anticipation for the arrival of their little boy was transparent. It translated beautifully into photos.
Their little boy isn’t due until the first week in July, but I’m really looking forward to their newborn session. Daddy’s a fisherman, so we’ll be having a little bit of a theme for some of the photos. I bought some props from Etsy last night that I think will work perfectly for the photos.
I know it can be so hard to be on the other side of the camera when we live in such a photo obsessed world with Facebook, Instagram, etc., but you’ll be so glad you did. Every time I do maternity photos I always think of that scene in the movie The Family Stone where Sarah Jessica Parker’s character gives everyone a framed photo of their mom (played by Diane Keaton) when she was pregnant and what a beautiful photo and gift that was for them all to have. Photos are so important and your children will thank you and appreciate having them.
