I know I know…it’s been a LONG time since I’ve blogged a session. This past year and a half has been crazy busy and I just haven’t had a whole lot of extra time on my hands. I also haven’t posted anything on Facebook since January I think. Well, with Facebook, at least I have a good excuse.
The Facebook algorithms make it nearly pointless to post anymore unless you just want to reach about 3% of your fans (and that same 3 % over and over and over). They are pushing businesses HARD to pay for ads and I’ve been told by a few different sources (one marketing podcast and one educational seminar) that it’s not where one should invest their marketing dollars. So, that’s why you won’t see me post much there these days. Another reason is that I allow my clients to opt out of social media sharing of their images, so nothing to Facebook or Instagram and the like. If my clients wish to share their images, that’s fine and dandy (and I love when you do!), but I want my clients to have that control.
But, the one place I do like to (and need to for SEO purposes) share my images is on my blog. About 99% of my clients find me on the internet, so I have to do what I can to keep my website fresh so Google doesn’t get bored with me and place me down at the bottom of the rankings. 🙂
I’m going to work a bit backward with catching up on my blogging. This is my most recent edited session and I absolutely love it! I just finished taking this little man’s one-year photos as the last session in his First Year Baby Plan. After having to reschedule twice (once due to illness, the other to bad weather) we were finally able to make it work. We had a gorgeous evening with warm temps and a glowing sunset for their backyard session. When you have a big beautiful backyard with weeping willows and a pond, um yes! We have to shoot there.
So, enjoy these photos from our session together!
