Minneapolis In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Photography
Posted: January 16, 2017

I was so excited to see this couple and their brand new baby girl for their newborn photos. Having had such a fantastic maternity photo shoot with them just a couple of months prior, I was really looking forward to meeting their one-month-old little sweetie.

As with all of my newborn sessions lately, it was bitterly cold the morning of their session, but the sun was shining, so that always helps. I had forewarned mom to raise the temperature in their home to about 73-75 degrees since they had planned on having their baby girl in just a diaper for part of the session. I also had them feed her about 30 minutes prior to my arrival, so she’d be well-fed and happy by the time I got there.

We started off with just a few natural and simple baby photos while she was still awake followed by family photos with mom and dad snuggling their little one on their bed. We took a few individual shots of just mom with her new daughter and then some daddy-daughter photos. She ended up falling asleep while taking those as she was snuggling in with her daddy. It was so sweet!

We decided to move her to her crib to get a few nursery shots. And at mom and dad’s request, slipped her into her “Made in Hoboken” onesie. How adorable is that?

Since Dad’s parents (the new grandparents) were on hand, we also got a few shots with them as well. I always love having grandparents at these shoots to document such a special occasion.

Enjoy some of my favorites from their session. Contact me to schedule your own newborn photo session today!
