I always love when my baby plans end with the one year cake smash session!  I think the best part is seeing how each baby reacts to the cake.  I’ve read somewhere that you should “practice”  a cake smash with your baby at home before the actual session, since a lot of babies can have a texture aversion to the frosting.

I’ve had babies cry during these sessions, seem completely uninterested and flat out want nothing to do with the cake and try to crawl or walk away from it; not this girl.

She LOVED the cake!  Loved eating it, playing with it and even at one point tried to just pick the whole thing up with her hands.  It was simply hilarious!  It was by far the most fun cake smash session I’ve had and bests every prior session at being the messiest by far!

Following the session mom and dad had planned on bringing the kids to a birthday party lunch with family, but didn’t plan on needing the extra stop at Target to pick up a new sweater for mom.  Frosting was everywhere!

It’s again, been such an honor to be a part of this family’s life documenting their baby’s first year with them.  Knowing they have many big changes ahead, I wish them the best of luck this year and look forward to seeing them again!
