I loved, loved, loved this one year cake smash session!!

When these little girls popped out of mom and dad’s car outside of Town Greene in Maple Grove, they were so cute, dressed in their summer dresses and hair all done.  You could tell mom put a lot of thought into this session.  Mom and Dad were also dressed perfectly with coordinating bright, summer colors.  I was just a teeny bit excited!

We started out with family photos and then individual photos of the girls right outside the Maple Grove Public Library.  The colorful Adirondack chairs worked out perfectly, not only for my lighting, but well coordinated with their outfits.  The girls were incredibly happy and cooperative.  Really, it couldn’t have gone any better.

After a few more family photos, we moved to a new spot and brought out the cake…and boy did that look delicious!  Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting…my favorite.

At this point I just figured we’d snap a few pics of the birthday girl digging into the sugary deliciousness…I had no idea mom and dad had another idea in mind.  Not only did her big sister jump in for the fun, but so did mom and dad, too!  My first ever FAMILY cake smash session!

And if you’re reading this and thinking about having a super fun and unique cake smash session for your one-year old, you might want to consider this an opportunity to create some incredible memories with your baby and children.  I can only imagine this little girl looking through these photos in 5 years and thinking “I have the coolest and most loving parents…EVER”.
