One Year Cake Smash at Home {Maple Grove MN Baby Photographer}
Posted: September 17, 2015

It’s the kind of day that’s deserving a cute blog post, don’t ya think?  With my son home sick from school on this rainy and stormy Thursday, I figured why not?  I was supposed to go down to IKEA with another photographer friend of mine to pick up our new storage units for our studio, but my son came down with a half-expected cold, so I decided to stay home with him today.

This little guy wrapped up his year on my First Year Baby Plan with a one year cake smash at home.  He was in a pretty good mood and acting pretty funny and silly…until we broke out the decorations and cake for his cake smash photos.  He literally kept pushing the cake away and wanted nothing to do with it.  And he really didn’t find the humor in mom and dad getting in on the cake smash when dad decided to plant the cake right in mom’s face.  I’m not quite sure if he was teething, sick or just tired, but I’m pretty sure he was ready for a nap by the time I left their house…after a bath, of course!

Shortly after our session this family packed up and transferred to Denver, CO for dad’s new job.  They will be truly missed as each and every session with them was so much fun.  I’m glad they made such beautiful memories in their Minnesota home with this photo session before starting the new chapter in their lives.  That’s what it’s all about!  Making memories. 🙂
