One Year Baby Photos Near Minneapolis
Posted: February 5, 2024

If you’re looking for a photographer to take one year baby photos near Minneapolis, look no further! I absolutely love being a Minneapolis Baby Photographer and documenting these milestones during the baby’s first year.

This particular one year photography session was the last of 4 sessions we took during her mommy and daddy’s First Year Baby Plan. We started with their gorgeous maternity photos last fall. It was a warm, but windy and overcast evening, but the photos turned out SO BEAUTIFUL! They had even brought their brand-new puppy to the session. They were seriously courageous (or nuts) to get a puppy with a new baby coming.

I highly suggest having a maternity session combined with your newborn session. It’s such a great way to get to know each other before the newborn session.

Our next session together was their posed newborn session at the studio. She was truly a beautiful newborn baby, but it’s no wonder. Her mom and dad are pretty cute, too!

After her newborn photo session, we took her “sitter session” photos at a park where we could get back outside. It was a nice summer morning when we took these photos. Getting outside is always so great for any baby milestone session. As long as it’s not too hot or too cold. Luckily most mornings here in Minnesota are usually pretty mild.

I have a few parks I love to shoot at in the Minneapolis area, but one in particular I love in Plymouth is called West Medicine Lake Park. It’s such a great park with a beach area, docks, lakes and ponds, covered bridge, uncovered bridge, and a spot with tall grass and wildflowers that are perfect for an evening sunset session. So, if you happen to be around in that area, you can usually find me here shooting in the morning and sometimes in the evenings, too.

And last, but not least, her One Year Baby Photos! I didn’t know they were going to be bringing in a cake for the cake smash, otherwise, I could have picked up some balloons and decorations. But luckily I had my seamless paper all set up for one of the setups and I always have cake stands at the studio. It all worked out perfectly.

She LOVED the cake! She loved it so much we had to stop her from overeating. We didn’t want her to get sick. As you can tell from the last photo, she was pretty mad when the cake was taken away from her at the end.

It’s always so funny to see how babies react to the One Year Cake Smash. The last baby I had wanted nothing to do with the cake and just wanted to play with the balloons! So funny!

The best part of my First Year Baby Plan is that at the end of the plan, you’ll receive a complimentary Heirloom First Year Album with your favorite images from each session. You’ll get to pick from your maternity, newborn, and baby sessions to create a beautiful story for your baby.

So, please reach out to me if you’re looking for a photographer for your one year baby photos near Minneapolis. Right now I’m scheduling sessions at the studio, but if you want to get outside, let’s schedule a session for Spring or Summer! The Cake Smash portion of the session is always optional at the one year baby photos and if you give me a heads up that you’ll be bringing a cake, I’m happy to provide balloons and other decorations to go with whatever theme and colors you’d like.
