Well, I’m officially all moved out of my old studio in Golden Valley and all moved into the new one in Brooklyn Park! I’m not 100% put together in the new studio yet, but everything will be finished on Saturday. I still have a cabinet to put together, a new “bed” for my posed newborn photos being delivered today, and a new chair being delivered tomorrow.
My husband helped me with the big move last weekend. It was many, many trips back and forth over the course of the weekend and it was a little bittersweet to say goodbye to the old place. It was a great place to work out of for the past 3 years, but as the years rolled on I noticed more and more drawbacks to that location. The new location addresses the drawbacks I had, which I hope will make it a much more enjoyable location for my clients. That’s what’s most important to me; making sure my clients have a great experience for their newborn, baby, and maternity photo sessions!
The new location is on the main floor, so no more stairs to climb. I no longer have a bathroom right in my studio, but there are bathrooms just down the hall from my suite. Most of my sessions will take place on the weekends and most of the other businesses are closed then, so you’ll pretty much have the bathrooms all to yourself. There is an atrium just down the hall from my suite with vending machines, so you’ll have beverages and snacks close by if you need them. The new studio has a bit more square footage than my old studio giving us more room to move around.
I thought it only fitting to share my last session at the old studio, which was this family’s newborn photography session. They were all so great to work with and even though this little gal had a little bit of trouble being posed (she only wanted to be wrapped all snug), we got some great images together!
That’s the thing with newborn photography. You have to go with the flow since each baby is different. Some babies prefer being loose while others prefer being wrapped up warm and snuggly. I never know until I start working with them what they prefer, but once we get it figured out its usually smooth sailing.
I’m very much looking forward to all of my studio sessions in September! During the first week in the studio, I have 5 babies coming in and I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m currently booked through the end of October and am now booking sessions for November, December, and January 2022. Now would be the time to get a date on the calendar, so contact me today.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
