MN in home natural newborn photography

Is anyone else a little bummed when you turn on the radio and they’re no longer playing Christmas music? I kind of wish they would just keep that going until New Years Day. There was something a little bit more relaxing and easy going about my drive through the cold and snowy weather when Christmas music was playing in the background. Oh well! Back to my regular old 70’s and 80’s rock tunes!

Speaking of driving through cold and snowy weather…this little girls newborn photos took place on the very coldest day of the year! Following a snowstorm a couple days before, I believe the temp was a balmy -20 on my drive to St. Paul that morning. The drive was probably a little slower than usual, given the amount of accidents and spinouts on the highways, but I made it! It was actually a beautiful day. The sky was so blue, the sun was shining bright and the wind was rather calm.

And it’s winter days like these that are the reason I love offering in home newborn photography to my clients. There is no way I would have asked a client with a brand new baby to go out in that weather for photos. Especially after recovering from a c-section. Mom and dad got to stay in their home staying nice and toasty warm while I brought everything we needed to create the most beautiful images of their newborn baby girl. We also captured some great moments of them snuggling their baby girl and calming her down while she was having a bit of tummy trouble. It’s actually really sweet to witness those moments. I believe it’s in those moments when you’re baby is screaming in pain and you feel so helpless; that it can really define you as a parent. They handled it beautifully; like old pros.

I have no doubt these two will be wonderful parents. Congratulations again on your beautiful baby girl!
