Happy 2022! It’s the first blog post of the year: Minnesota Sitter Baby Milestone Photography. I’m so excited to share this beautiful baby girl’s 7-month milestone photos. She was teething a bit and not feeling her greatest during the session, but we still managed to get some great pictures!

Every baby stage is a bit unpredictable, but you can almost always bet your baby is teething anytime between 6 months and One Year. When my clients book baby photo sessions with me they receive a prep guide a few weeks before the session. That way they can prepare to make the most out of the session. I always recommend giving babies in this age range Tylenol before coming into the session to ward off any teething pain.

Having a well-rested baby with a full tummy coming into the session is also important, which is why I schedule all of my baby sessions in the mornings. The best time is preferable before their first nap of the day. My clients are always welcome to bring a bottle or snacks to the session, too. It’s not uncommon to need to take a little break mid-way through the session to stop for a snack. Sometimes it can make a big difference between a happy smiley baby and a cranky one.

Although my sessions typically last 45 minutes to an hour, there is no cutoff time. We’re done when I feel we’ve got enough shots for a gallery and/or the baby has had enough. In my 11 years as a baby photographer, I’ve only ever had to reschedule a session once or twice due to the baby not feeling well. I’m definitely not opposed to doing this since we only have one chance to capture your baby at this very moment in time.
