There is definitely a chill in the air! It’s technically not winter, but it sure feels like it. All the more reason to book newborn photos with a photographer like me who will come to your home. There are so many advantages to having your baby’s first photos taken at home. You’ll have everything you need to soothe, feed and care for your baby right at your fingertips.

You know how much fun it is to have to get all bundled up (you and the baby), pack the diaper bag, get baby in the car seat, time the feeding, get in the car, wait for the car to warm up and then have to drive on the cold and snowy roads? Yeah, not much. That’s why I do all the work and come to you. Last year I drove to a session in St. Paul from my home in Maple Grove in -20 degree weather; I kid you not! Mom and Dad were truly appreciative that they didn’t have to take their brand new baby girl out in that weather. I’m a Minnesota native, so while I’m not the biggest fan of the cold weather, I’m kind of used to it.

You still get to enjoy beautiful images like the ones I did a few weeks ago of this newborn baby girl. I ended using their dining room with a sliding glass door to set up for these photos and worked out perfectly. You really don’t need a great big house for in home newborn photos; just the right amount of window light. Furniture can always be moved.

I have a newborn session tomorrow, a few newborn sessions coming up in December, and I just finished editing my last one from October. October was a very crazy busy month for me, so I’m looking forward to slowing down a little here in November. Especially since I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving for about 20 people again this year.
