Oh my goodness, I could not love these photos any more. This little guy, who’s one of my babies of my First Year Baby Plan, is one of the cutest and funniest babies ever. I think I’ve only had one other session that I can remember when a baby has smiled more. He is one happy little dude!

His facial expressions in pictures feel as though he’s telling you one of the most exciting stories a 7 month old baby could tell. Just priceless.

I hadn’t seen him since his newborn session, but he was just as beautiful as I remember. Those chubby cheeks and full lips; he’s baby-licious! 🙂

These photos were taken at my Minneapolis studio on a cloudy and rainy day, which is probably why I love them so much. The light coming through the windows was perfect. Some may think that shooting indoors on a cloudy and/or rainy day will leave you with drab looking photos, but not me. I’d take this over a sunny day any day. This is a big reason why I also love shooting at my studio quite early in the morning. Not only are babies usually happier, but the light is softer.

Unfortunately, we (my studio mates and I) have a southern exposure, which is actually not ideal. But in the morning when the sun is still over in the eastern sky, it’s not too bad. As it moves across, though, that sun shines directly in and while it does a nice job of warming up the studio on a cold winter day, it can be pretty harsh. In order to soften the light we have a shower curtain liner we put up to do, so which creates a soft box effect. Just in case you’re at the studio and are wondering.
