This was such a great newborn photography session. First off, I love it when a couple or family finds me locally right here in Maple Grove, MN. It’s always nice to have such a short drive to a session, plus I love talking about local activities, shops and schools with my fellow neighbors. Someday my son and this little guy will attend the same Elementary School! Secondly, these first time parents were extremely sweet and so fun and easy to work with.
A special treat was being able to visit with the new little baby’s great-grandparents (dad’s grandparents) while mom was feeding the baby. Grandparents are very dear to me. I only had one that I was close to, my grandmother, and she passed away when I was in my early twenties. My other 3 grandparents all died before I turned 5 years old. The only other grandparent I have vague memories of is my grandfather, my dad’s dad. I have memories of visiting him at his apartment and for some odd reason I remember the way he smelled and I think I remember his laugh…but like I said, my memories are vague.
Having these vague memories is exactly why I treasure the photos I have of all my loved ones that have passed. Recently, it’s been far too many. Just in the past 2 years, I’ve lost an aunt, an uncle, a childhood friend and one of my best friends. My photos I have of them, especially the ones I have of us together, are priceless to me.
