Writing this blog post is a bit bittersweet for me.  Photographing this little man for his one year photos also meant it would be my last session with one of my favorite families ever.  Not that because it was his one year session that it meant the end of our relationship, but that they would shortly after be leaving Minneapolis and moving on to another city for Dad’s new job.

I have been photographing this family since I started my business in 2011.  It all started with a Gift Certificate they received from a friend for a free session with me, which they chose to use for their maternity session, and from there they booked a First Year Baby Plan for their first baby.  Little did we know that just 5 days after our maternity session their son would arrive 5.5 weeks early!  He was just the tiniest little peanut I have ever photographed; so tiny that he drowned in the little props I had brought with me to photograph him in.  He was just too precious.  Over the next year I watched as he grew into a very strong, resilient and sweet little boy.

Then one day I received an e-mail with the announcement of their 2nd baby and another First Year Baby Plan was in the works.  Again, we photographed their maternity photos, newborn photos and milestone photos up until their 2nd little man’s first birthday.

Each and every session I had with them was always filled with laughter, loads of smiles, silliness, snuggles, and above all else, pure and genuine love and adoration for each other and their children.  They have been such wonderful people to get to know over the past 4 years and will be truly, truly missed.  I’m just glad I knew another photographer in the city they moved to, so I could pass the torch on to someone I know who will take very good care of them for me. 🙂
