This may be my last blog post of 2022! We’ll see how the rest of the week goes. But I wanted to get at least one more post up before the end of the year. It was another great year working with my wonderful clients.

Some of my maternity, newborn, and baby clients were new to working with me this year. It was so much fun to meet all of those new faces. Some families were returning with baby #2 or baby #3. And I even got to work with an old co-worker from 13 years ago! It was so much fun to catch up with her and her husband at their newborn session.

2022 was my first full year in my new Brooklyn Park studio. Having my family photography studio near Maple Grove, MN meant being closer to home. Moving into a new location didn’t come without its growing pains. But overall I feel settled and happy in my new place. I’m still contemplating painting my walls white as now they’re sort of a cream/off-white color painted by the landlord. I do like the touch of warmth it offers in the photos, so I keep going back and forth on it.

One new thing I added this year was a Christmas backdrop for sessions that took place in November and December. It was a huge hit with my clients! I might do one more blog post sharing just the photos taken using it. You can see it in the family and newborn photos taken during this session. I love the variety it adds. It’s just so simple and elegant. A perfect reflection of my photography style.

I’ve been off for a couple of weeks for the holidays and return to the studio on Jan. 7th with a pretty packed schedule. Not only do I have a good amount of sessions scheduled, but I also have jury duty to look forward to. That’s if I get called to go to the courthouse. Should be an interesting start to 2023! 🙂
