Family Photography Bloomington MN

Another one of my favorite families came to see me for some family photography at my studio right before Christmas.  I’ve been their family photographer for over 3 years now.  I’ve been their engagement photographer, wedding photographer, maternity photographer (through both pregnancies), newborn photographer, baby and child photographer and family photographer.  I sort of feel like I’m the 5th member…it’s an honor and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙂

I absolutely adore the theme to this shoot:  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I seriously love how this has made a comeback.  I remember watching the Turtles as a kid in the mornings while I had my bowl of cereal before heading out to the school bus.  I love when anything from the 80’s makes a comeback…is it ok to start ratting out my hair with a can of AquaNet and pinning the bottom of my jeans yet?  Oh, those were the days…

I love that this family didn’t go with the traditional outfits for their photos; it just wouldn’t be them.  Remember, taking photos is documenting this short and precious time you have on this earth.  Why be anything in photos other than yourself?  These photos will be passed on to your children, your grandchildren, and beyond.  And anything posted to the internet…well, that’s forever.  And it wouldn’t be a super colorful, playful, loving and fun session if this family had dressed any differently.  I just love them (and they know I do!)

Enjoy!
