Family and Newborn Photos in the studio in Minneapolis, MN
Posted: July 22, 2023

I had such a lovely time working with this family on their family and newborn photos in the studio in Minneapolis, MN. Technically my studio is just 20 minutes north of Minneapolis in Brooklyn Park, so it’s just a short drive from downtown.

This beautiful family added another gorgeous baby girl to their family and I think big sister is in love! She did so well for the sibling photos. She was so gentle and loving with her newborn baby sister.

Working with toddlers can always be a little tricky as this can be a very confusing time for them. Most of the time we’re able to work a little magic and get at least one image of the siblings together. The shot below, where I take the shot from above with both siblings lying on their backs, is the most popular. It’s also the safest and easiest pose to get them into.

Another option is to have the baby lying on the floor with the big sister or brother lying behind them on their tummy looking down at the baby or giving the baby little kisses and snuggles. I rarely ever have the older sibling hold the baby unless they’re a bit older. Safety is always my first priority in the studio when it comes to the kiddos.

If you’re looking for someone to capture your family and newborn photos in the studio in Minneapolis, MN, I’d love to work with you! I’m fully booked in July and August but still have a few openings left in September and October. Reach out today to schedule your session!
