It’s been a while since I’ve been able to share some maternity photography on my blog. My last maternity session, which was earlier this year when we still had snow on the ground, opted out of sharing of their images on Facebook and on my blog, so getting to share this one with you is very exciting! (More on this opt out option in a minute.)
These maternity photos are the first set of photos for this couple on my First Year Baby Plan. Their baby girl is due towards the end of next month and I’m so excited to meet her! I’ve already seen pics of her nursery in vibrant shades of teal, pink and purple with the cutest safari theme. I’ve already gone a little nuts shopping for newborn props on Etsy, so I’ll be coordinating her shoot with the colors in her room. And if she ends up looking anything like her gorgeous mama, she’ll be one lucky little girl!
We had the most perfect evening for taking pics of this mommy-to-be and her hubby at West Medicine Lake Park in Plymouth, MN. This area is so great for photos and offers the most variety and beautiful settings, especially at sunset. They really wanted to be near water for their session, so this was one of the first spots that popped in my head. Not only is it on Medicine Lake, but offers these cute little ponds with random docks and bridges making it a great spot for photos.
So, just a little informative note on the “opt out” option I mentioned above. This is something new I’m doing this year; giving my clients the option of opting out of sharing of their images on Facebook and my blog. While we’ve all learned to embrace the whole social media concept, there’s a lot to worry about when sharing images on the internet, especially when it comes to the safety and privacy of our children. I’ve come to learn that not everyone is comfortable with this and I totally respect that. While the majority of photographers use social media and blogging to promote and advertise their work, it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. Your safety, whether during a shoot or on the internet, is always my number one priority. 🙂
