This family is just the sweetest. I’m so glad they came to me again to my Maple Grove, MN newborn photography studio for their 3rd (yes, 3rd!) baby girl’s newborn photos and first-year baby plan package.
My Maple Grove, MN newborn photography studio is just a 5-minute drive from downtown Maple Grove making this only about a 5-minute commute to the studio for them. Pretty great with a newborn and 2 kids in tow. Their baby girl was a complete angel for her first photoshoot with me. And their older 2 kids did so well when it came time for family photos and sibling photos with the new baby.
When it came time for choosing colors for the newborn portraits, Mom picked out light pink and creams again. Just like we did for her older sister. These colors are definitely favorites among my clients with baby girls. I think pink, followed by purple and blue are the top color choices for newborn baby girls these days. I mean, pink and purple are classics, but I do love a little girl in blue.
Keeping it simple, we did a few wrapped poses with floral headbands and bonnets and then moved to my posing table for the laying down poses. We got such great variety because she was such a great sleeper!
And on a side note, something you won’t find in my newborn portfolio are cluttered and busy-looking images. I don’t follow trends, like the “boho trend” that’s become common recently in photography. I prefer to keep my images simple, clean, and timeless. Remember, these images will be in your family forever. You know how you can look at a photo from when you or your parents were young and know exactly what year or decade the photo was taken? That’s not really the goal here.

I’m looking forward to seeing the whole crew back in the studio for her sitter session in a few months. I think we’ll get them in just in time for Christmas Cards.
