I have to say I was confused and unsure about the e-mail I received from expertise.com telling me I was chosen for the Best Minneapolis Newborn Photographer 2016 article.  I had to read it and then re-read it and then show my husband and repeatedly ask myself “is this legit?”.  But, low and behold, IT IS!

To be named in the top 19 out of 282 Minneapolis Newborn Photographers is quite an honor.  After over 5 years in the industry, which is a tough industry, to be qualified for this honor based on 25 different criteria is truly humbling.  This small and quaint little business I’ve built is being recognized for all the hard work that I’ve put into it and I can’t even begin to describe what an amazing feeling it is.

I didn’t sign up to be considered.  I didn’t submit my business for consideration.  This came to me as a complete surprise, which truly makes it feel all that more special.

I’m not one to tout my business and I’m a horrible marketer.  I’m a complete introvert, especially when it comes to putting myself out there and making myself vulnerable to criticism.  That’s why posting my work on Facebook always leaves a little knot in my stomach.  Heck, writing this is leaving a knot in my stomach!  I’m a people pleaser by nature, so when my clients or people in general aren’t happy with me, it turns my whole world upside down.

Receiving this award also makes me want to work even harder as I move forward with my newborn photography business.  It’s definitely a great motivator to keep learning new skills and techniques and creating beautiful images for my clients.

What I truly love about this list of other newborn photographers is that it’s such a diverse group and will make it easy for anyone in the Minneapolis area looking for a newborn photographer.  I’m very familiar with most of the other photographers on this list, either personally or professionally.  This list has it’s fair share of studio photographers, in home photographers, posed newborn photographers and lifestyle newborn photographers using both natural light and studio light.  And each photographer’s style is unique making this a great list for anyone looking for a newborn photographer to choose from.  I know I won’t fit the bill for everyone and I certainly don’t expect to, but again, it’s an honor to be listed amongst the best of the best in the area.
