I’m so excited to share these beautiful sunset winter maternity photos in snowy Minneapolis with you! It has been one heck of a winter so far here in Minnesota. We’ve already gotten a year’s worth of snow and it’s only the end of January. We still have at least 2 months more of this, you guys.
But the abundance of snow and colder temps were not going to stop this couple from having the snowy maternity photos they had dreamed of.
It was about 17 degrees when we shot these just a few weeks ago, but we lucked out with no wind and a gorgeous sunny day. If the wind had been blowing it might have been a different story.
Part of this story is a bit funny though. When I arrived at the park, I went to my normal parking lot, which is an overflow lot. I couldn’t see very well, but I could see it was snow-covered and didn’t realize until I got about 15 feet in that it was deep. Deep, deep. And I got stuck. Even with AWD, my tired just spun and spun. I couldn’t get any traction.
I was a little early, so I called my lovely clients and told them to not come to the parking lot because I didn’t want them to get stuck and I would meet them at the other lot.
We went on with the photo shoot as planned. I didn’t want to lose out on our gorgeous sunset and figured I’d deal with my car afterward. My incredibly sweet clients were kind enough to drive me back over to my car and push me out (well, we had mama-to-be stay in their car). Soon after I was on my way home!
I’m now looking forward to working with them on their baby’s newborn photos in just a couple of months!
