Oh, Baby Stella! What a beauty! I had no doubt she would be (and will be) a beautiful little girl after taking her newborn photos earlier this year. Those big blue eyes, oh my!
When I arrived at their home to take her 6-month photos the first thing I noticed were her chubby little legs. I couldn’t believe what a cute little chub she was! I love seeing that on babies. It’s a fantastic sign of a healthy and happy baby.
She was definitely happy! Full of smiles for her photo session, she just needed a little snack and a teeny little nap (literally 20 minutes) between her outdoor and indoor photos. Other than that, she was incredibly happy and content the entire time.
One thing I absolutely love about these photos are the ones we took in her nursery. I think it’s so, so important to take photos in the nursery. Just like your baby will only be that tiny and look a certain way for a short amount of time, so will the baby’s room. In just 5 years since my son was born, in our first house, he had at least 3 different room make-overs as he transitioned from a newborn to a toddler and just since we’ve been in the new house (2 years) it’s already changed twice..and it’s about to change again (taking down the Cars theme and putting up the Angry Birds for his 5th birthday, a long overdue makeover).
I’m grateful for the photos I took of him in his room as it’s part of his story; part of him coming into his own and discovering his own passions in life. I can’t tell you how much I love looking at photos of my room when I was a little girl. Trust me, your child will, too.
