Baby Nolan {Plymouth Newborn Photographer}
Posted: August 31, 2016

Sometimes things just don’t go as planned. As a Newborn Photographer I’ve learned to go with the flow and roll with the punches. We can plan our hearts out to set the date and time, pack for the props, etc., but it may not come together perfectly.  And that’s ok.

On the morning of this little guys newborn photo session, I received a call from mom. She let me know baby Nolan wasn’t gaining weight, but was in fact losing.  They needed to bring him into several doctor appointments over the next couple of days, so we needed to reschedule his session.  Instantly my heart went out to her as we spoke on the phone.  Nevermind the photos, I said, take care of your little guy and call me when you think you’ll be ready.

I received a call a few days later, ready to reschedule to the following weekend.  Baby Nolan was doing better through supplementing and was gaining weight, yay!  I was so happy and so thrilled for them.  There is nothing more nerve-wracking than having a possible medical issue with your newborn; trust me, I know.

We had a lovely warm and sunny morning for their photos, so we got to take some family photos outside.  We did get eaten up a little bit my those Minnesota mosquitoes, but it was so worth it.  Inside Nolan was a busy eater, but once we got him full and worn out, his posed photos went pretty well.  After a while he woke up, so we took some photos of him wide awake.  Something I’m learning to embrace a bit more these days.  Newborns have so many facial expressions and it’s so much fun to capture!
