This little peanut was so much fun to photograph over the course of her First Year Baby Plan. She was a preemie, so we started with her 6-month photos (3 months adjusted age) and ended with her One Year photos. She was 9 months for the photos taken at this session, but at an adjusted age of 6 months. I’ve taken photos of quite a few preemie babies and it’s always so great to see them thrive and doing so well during that first year!
Preemies can run into a lot of medical issues, especially with lung development, which is why they often get a few rounds of the RSV vaccine, Synagis, for the first winter or two after birth. Since my son has Cystic Fibrosis, he also received that vaccine until he turned 2 years. Luckily I haven’t run into any babies that have had any issues and I’m always so glad to see them so happy and healthy!
At her session, she was doing everything any typical 6 month old would do; sitting unsupported, giving big smiles and belly laughs, standing while holding on to mom’s fingers, etc. Not all that different from a 9 month old, however the 2 big milestones at 9 months are crawling and cruising (walking along furniture while holding on). Every baby is so different, though! I’ve definitely photographed babies at 9 months that probably could crawl, they just simply have no interest. It’s actually pretty funny to hear those kinds of stories and it just goes to show not only how different babies are development-wise, but personality-wise, as well.
I shot this little girl’s One Year Cake Smash photos a few months ago and can’t wait to share those in another blog post soon. But in the meantime, enjoy these ones!
I always look forward to bringing in new clients on my First Year Baby Plan, so if you or someone you know is interested in signing up, send me an e-mail to alicea@alicearosephotography.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
