I met Lilly and her very sweet parents last Fall for a family portrait session. What looked like was going to be a decent Fall day, especially for early November, turned into a blustery one rather quickly. Lilly was short on smiles, as she was cold from the biting wind, as we all were that morning, so the session didn’t go as well as planned.
I felt horrible. At the time, it was a month before I moved into my new studio, which would have been a great back-up that morning, so we really didn’t have any alternate places to go on short notice.
Following the session, I sent her mom an email asking her if she would like a make-up session for their family photos, this time at the studio. She said she could make at least one of the photos from the shoot work for their Christmas card, but that she would contact me in the new year to schedule Lilly’s 2-year photos.
I was elated when I received the email in February that she was ready to schedule the session.
We planned for a studio shoot and to make sure it was a memorable one, I surprised her with pink balloons and decorations that happened to work out perfectly with her chosen outfit.
In the comfort of the climate controlled studio, she did awesome! She was smiley and happy the entire time. I was happy. Mom and Dad were happy. Most importantly Lilly was happy! It was a success! 🙂
