F.A.Q.’s

What type of photo sessions do you offer?

I specialize in natural light maternity, newborn (posed and lifestyle/candid) and baby photography for babies one year and under.

Do you have a studio?

I do!  My natural light studio is conveniently located in Northeast Minneapolis at 1330 Quincy St. NE, Studio 207 in the heart of the Arts District.  If you'd like to see photos of the studio click HERE. I'm typically at the studio during the winter months, however, it's not uncommon to move a scheduled outdoor shoot inside when the weather isn't cooperating.

What is your style?

My minimilistic style means my images never have a bold or busy look to them.  My artistic style results in images that are soft, light, romantic and filled with emotion!  These images documenting this time in your and your baby's life should be all about you and not the props.  Considering these images will be in your family for generations, creating timeless images that aren't trendy or following the latest fad is very important to me.

How long is a typical session?

Most sessions generally last about an hour, while a newborn session will take anywhere from 2-4 hours.

What should my family wear to our session?

Coordinating outfits work best!  Long pants and longer sleeve shirts also look better than shorts and t-shirts.  Most people are self-conscious of their arms/legs, so having them covered up will not only look better, but you'll feel more comfortable, too.  Avoid shirts with writing or graphics on them and stick to solid colors and simple patterns.  Wear shoes that coordinate with your clothing and keep the running/tennis shoes at home.  Babies that are not yet walking will be photographed in bare feet...I can't resist those baby toes!

How soon after our session will I be able to view the online gallery?

Within 2 weeks of your session I will send you a link to your private online gallery.  The gallery will stay open for 2 weeks giving you a chance to download your images, share with family & friends, and place any print orders.

Are my images always shared on social media, like your Facebook page and Website?

Typically I do a sneak peak share on my Facebook page within 1-2 days of our session and within a few months of our session I will blog a good amount of the photos on my website, however, your personal information is never shared.  I use vague terms like "this cutie pie" or "this adorable family" when mentioning you on either site.  You are, of course, welcome to tag yourself on Facebook and share the blog post on your own personal sites.

Will I receive all of the pictures you took from our session?

No.  While I may take anywhere from 200 to 400 images in a session, you will receive an image gallery with a minimum of 25-35 photos from your session in both color and black/white. The images I choose are always the best reflection of you and of my own personal style and work.  The final images chosen are edited for correct color balance, cropping and retouching, all to make you look your very best.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes I do!  For each referral you send my way, I offer a $50 credit towards your next session, or $100 off any First Year Baby Plan.  No limit to how many of these you can rack up! Most of my business comes from word of mouth referrals and these are greatly appreciated. :)

Do you travel?

Yes, any location within a 30 mile radius of Maple Grove is free of charge.  Any location, within the Twin Cities Metro area, but outside of that radius is charged based on location.

Here is a list of places I recommend for your photo shoot within a 30 mile radius of Maple Grove:

Any park in the Three Rivers Park District (permits may be required depending on the park)

Henry's Woods, Rogers (just off Hwy 81/County Road 101 behind Cabela's in Rogers)

Doris A. Kemp Park, Champlin

Bassett Creek Park, Crystal

West Medicine Lake Park, Plymouth

Central Park Dale West, Roseville

Minneapolis Parks and Lakes - Minneapolis Parks require a $45 permit.  A 10-day advance notice is also required. The permit will be acquired by the photographer and the fee will be added to the final invoice.

How do I pay for my session?

The down payment and a signed contract are both required to secure your preferred session date and time.  The remaining balance is due on the day of the session. Checks should be made payable to Alicea Rose Photography.  PayPal payments should be made to alicea@alicearosephotography.com.
