White Bear Lake MN Newborn Photographer

Happy Sunday! Sticking to my attempts to catch up on my blogging…another blogpost for the weekend. This isn’t going to be too wordy because I just don’t have a lot to say today.

I’m enjoying these 2 weeks I have off this month. Yesterday, my husband painted our kitchen cieling after having some new recessed lights installed. We also had our contractor scrape off the old popcorn cieling, which is so 1984. It’s a drastic difference from what the kitchen looked like 5 years ago when we bought our house. My bathroom is in serious need of some repairs and painting, too, which I’m hoping to get to this week. Knowing I have 20 family members coming in a week and a half for Thanksgiving is pretty motivating.

I’ve been to a lot of my clients’ homes lately where major remodels have taken place. It’s always fun to hear the stories of all the hard work they put into it.

This session took place in their home in their master bedroom, which was the former garage of the original house. They bought this house on White Bear Lake in an area where most of the homes are really old because at one point in time, they were just little cabins. They said they were the last ones in the neighborhood to add on and convert their home into what it is today.

The brown/tan/blue tones from the baby’s photos went perfectly with the theme in their house; cabin on the water. Enjoy!

White Bear Lake Maternity Photographer ~ Fun at the beach!

This maternity session has truly become one of my favorites. We were so lucky to get a such a beautiful warm August evening with gorgeous golden hour light. I’m absolutely in love with how her bright pink maternity dress contrasted with the tall grasses and wild flowers with that yellow golden glow. There is a reason this spot is my absolute favorite for maternity photos.

We also made use of the beach towards the end of the session. It was the least we could do for their little man who wasn’t exactly thrilled to be at the photo shoot that night. It was the perfect way to end the evening.

We’ve already done their baby boy’s newborn photos, which will probably be blogged next. I’m so far behind on blogging as I just wrapped up a very, very busy past couple of months. I’m looking foward to a little break over the next week or so to get caught up on blogging and house projects as I prepare to host Thanksgiving for the 3rd year in a row for about 20 people. I love this time of year and this holiday especially. There’s no pressure; just lots of family, food, footfall and fun! 🙂

Speaking of famlies, enjoy these favorites from my time together with this beautiful family!

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer – Winter’s Here!

There is definitely a chill in the air! It’s technically not winter, but it sure feels like it. All the more reason to book newborn photos with a photographer like me who will come to your home. There are so many advantages to having your baby’s first photos taken at home. You’ll have everything you need to soothe, feed and care for your baby right at your fingertips.

You know how much fun it is to have to get all bundled up (you and the baby), pack the diaper bag, get baby in the car seat, time the feeding, get in the car, wait for the car to warm up and then have to drive on the cold and snowy roads? Yeah, not much. That’s why I do all the work and come to you. Last year I drove to a session in St. Paul from my home in Maple Grove in -20 degree weather; I kid you not! Mom and Dad were truly appreciative that they didn’t have to take their brand new baby girl out in that weather. I’m a Minnesota native, so while I’m not the biggest fan of the cold weather, I’m kind of used to it.

You still get to enjoy beautiful images like the ones I did a few weeks ago of this newborn baby girl. I ended using their dining room with a sliding glass door to set up for these photos and worked out perfectly. You really don’t need a great big house for in home newborn photos; just the right amount of window light. Furniture can always be moved.

I have a newborn session tomorrow, a few newborn sessions coming up in December, and I just finished editing my last one from October. October was a very crazy busy month for me, so I’m looking forward to slowing down a little here in November. Especially since I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving for about 20 people again this year.

That’s a Wrap! {Minneapolis First Year Baby Photographer}

I got the best e-mail this morning from this little guy’s mama! They are expecting baby #2 in April and we’ll be starting up another baby plan package for them starting with maternity photos in the winter. So excited and happy for them!!

This is quite a big share from their little man’s one year photos we took a few weeks ago. He is such a little ham with so much personality! It will be so much fun to meet his new baby brother or sister in the Spring. I know one thing for sure; he or she will be equally as cute!

Enjoy!!

Pretty in Pink {Maple Grove In Home Newborn Photographer}

Happy Fall! It has been insanely busy with so many newborns lately and I’ve loved each and every session so much. I can’t wait to share the photos.

This blog post isn’t going to be too wordy, since my mind is spinning right now and I can’t really organize my thoughts. With a vacation with my hubby coming up, house projects, doctor appointments, school conferences and lots and lots of editing (and 3 more sessions this weekend before my week off), my thoughts are just kind of all over the place.

So, enjoy these photos from this beautiful little baby girl’s newborn session.
